This year's ConfCon went great! With talks from PhreakerD7, ThoughtPhreaker, L0rdx0f, ic0n, Adrian Lamo, Jason Scott, and many more participating, it was a really great turn-out. Amongst all the quality talks and speeches, was the usual ConfCon antics and fun.

We've now got all the audio uploaded to the site, which you can find here. We really appreciate everyone calling in, and for those that missed it, add us on twitter so that you don't miss next year's! You can also find us on the AntiLimit IRC channel, and chat it up with us there about ConfCon or other AL related things! (IRC channel: irc.haxnet.org SSL *ONLY* on port 6697, #antilimit)

Thanks for all the support, you guys, and we hope to see you next year!

Alright. So in case you haven't heard of it already (if you haven't, you suck) ConfCon 2010 is coming up in the next couple of months. We've currently got a Call For Papers out; so if you have anything telephony related that's interesting... we'd love to hear you speak on it at ConfCon 2010!

We had a fantastic turn-out last year (something like 70 users!!) including Jason Scott, df99 (one of the head guys working on ProjectMF), Lucky225, Royal, ThoughtPhreaker and many others. It was a lot of fun, we learned a lot, and we got phreaky as hell.

So please - take the time to visit the site, sign up, and submit a paper. All the information you could possibly want can be found on the site, and of course, any questions can be asked through the various methods listed on the Contact page.

I'd also like to mention that, as of this post, both user and group sign-up is OPEN! So you can sign up on the website, get your conference number, and be ready to dial-in.

Much <3, and hope to see you all there!

Hello from the mobile world! I'm here to let you guys know about a new project site we've recently pushed out the door. It's called iamcomputerilleterate.com. It's run by one of our good friends that hangs in the IRC channel. It's still fairly new so give it some time to get some content.

It's basically gonna be a new tech blog, to help teach people basic computer things. As for the misspelling of the domain? Well... Check the About section hehe.

ConfCon 2010 is comin up in a couple of months too. We've put out a Call For Papers (full information can be found on the site) Please send in papers! ConfCon can't happen without support from you guys!!!

Last but not least, I'd like to announce that a new project will be getting released very soon (next couple of days hopefully) It's music related and full of win! Keep your eyes peeled....

Hello all,

It's good to finally be back for one thing. Even if it is under bad circumstances with the latest heap of news.

Lately I've heard a lot of different chatter about Australia's(my countrys') new internet filtering system and I must say the fact that they haven't made the list public is a scary thought, whats good about this is the fact that it may create a new breed of hackers :) Which is always a good thing.

Also today I heard on the radio news about a privacy leak on facebooks' chat:

"Some Facebook users' live chat messages and pending friend requests were briefly visible to their contacts this week, as the result of a bug in the massive social network's "Preview My Profile" feature. Facebook confirmed the contents of a video posted to TechCrunch Europe on Wednesday that demonstrated the flaw, and has temporarily disabled its live chat software, but denied that it was a large-scale security problem."

The video is available here showing the loop hole

The other thing that has been bothering me lately is the news of a guy who hacked into Sarah Palin's email even though he didn't actually hack anything, he used the resources of the public domain to obtain the information for all 3 "High Security" Yahoo mail questions and as a result was able to obtain access to her email account. Which begs the question 1. What the hell is wrong with people so high up, are they really so silly as to put information like that as their recovery questions? and 2. How does this constitute wire fraud as the person caught doing this wasn't very old and in fact was a student just curious about her emails being used for illict purposes.

Instead of throwing this kid into court why didn't she just thank him for showing her the loop hole? Unfortunately the world doesn't work that way.

More on that as I get more information from the press, however I can tell you now that this is starting to feel a lot more like the mitnick case as days go by, its a gross injustice of course.

Another thing that bothers me about this is the fact that she could have gone on to become the chief of the US' national security. Imagining someone that incompetent running ANY kind of security, even guarding a box of cereal, is a scary thought.

Alpha.
